Meet Handoff is a Chrome extension and web service that captures the live captions of your Google Meet calls and stores the transcript in your account so you and your AI agents can read it later. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address and a password, used only to create and secure your account.
- Meeting transcripts. When you are signed in, have installed the extension, and have turned on captions in a Google Meet call, the extension captures the caption text Google Meet displays, including speaker names, and saves it to your account together with the meeting code and start and end times. Capture only happens in calls you are in, in the browser where you installed and signed in to the extension.
- API key metadata. If you create an API key for agent access, we store its name, a prefix for display, creation and last-used times, and a cryptographic hash of the key. We never store the key itself.
We do not collect browsing history, audio, or video. The extension runs only on meet.google.com and reads only the caption area of the page.
How we use it
- To show you your meeting history and transcripts on your dashboard.
- To let AI agents you explicitly connect (via an API key or an OAuth authorization you approve) list, search, and read your meetings over MCP.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your transcripts to train machine learning models. Transcripts are only ever disclosed to agents and clients you connect yourself, and you can revoke that access at any time from your dashboard.
Chrome extension limited use disclosure
Meet Handoff's use of information received from Google APIs and from the Google Meet page adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Captured caption data is used solely to provide the transcript features you see in the product, is never transferred to third parties except at your direction, and is never used for advertising.
Your responsibilities in a call
Transcripts can include what other participants say. Depending on where you and they are located, you may be legally required to tell participants the call is being transcribed and obtain their consent. You are responsible for complying with those laws when you use Meet Handoff.
Where your data lives
Transcripts and account data are stored in a Supabase-backed Postgres database operated by us. Access is protected by row-level security so each account can only read its own data.
Retention and deletion
We keep your transcripts until you delete them or your account. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at cfahlgren1@gmail.com and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
Your rights
You can access your data on your dashboard at any time, and you can request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing cfahlgren1@gmail.com. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar rights, these mechanisms are how you exercise them.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
